Grand Lake of the Cherokees has 46,500 surface acres that takes in 1300 miles of shoreline and is approximately 60 miles long. It was created in 1940 with the completion of the Pensacola Dam.

I’ve been fishing on Grand Lake over 30 years because it’s the premiere bass lake in Northeast Oklahoma.

It is the number one tournament lake in the state. Not only do they host local tournaments but they also have hosted multiple B.A.S.S. and Major League Fishing tournaments.

In addition, Grand Lake has the largest spoonbill (paddlefish) population in the world.
