Grand Lake of the Cherokees has 46,500 surface acres that takes in 1300 miles of shoreline and is approximately 60 miles long. It was created in 1940 with the completion of the Pensacola Dam.
Grand Lake is such a good bass lake it has hosted the B.A.S.S. Elite Series 2 years in a row now.
I've been fishing on Grand Lake over 16 years because it's the premiere bass lake in Northeast Oklahoma. Grand Lake also ranks the top 10 in bass tournament and shocking surveys. It has the best sand bass fishing out of all the lakes I guide on.
In addition, Grand Lake has the largest spoonbill population in the world where a person is allowed one fish per day (except Mondays and Fridays, catch and release only). |
